Maybe pay a pair of monks to duo the area? I know thats how I earned about 10k for this weekend. They can easily solo the middle path, and possibly parts of the others as well.

I feel your pain. It's that area too that I stopped vanquishing in Elona and stopped playing GW till now. I am trying the Winter build to lessen the impact of ruby djinns but I can't make it work for now. I think I gonna stop playing gw for another 2 or 3 weeks out of frustration.

I used Ranger hero with Winter & general attack skills, basic warrior, Bonder monk (Life Barrier), i didnt worry about interrupts rather staying alive. There's at least two (maybe three) "trap" spawns for Djinns, one in the starting area, one with the Paragon Boss, one with the Dervish. I could avoid the "trap" with the 1st boss but not with the dervish. Diamonds use Angelic Bond most of the time with enough DP these guys alone can wipe the party, rather dangerous.
Always, take the Ruby Djinns down as they come. They're alot weaker than the other ones. They'll still probably get one SF off though if you can help it try to soak one SF by pulling them yourself. Also no matter how much i scattered around they always chose the biggest group of us, but do it anyway a little flagging.
When you've cleared/survived the starting area, goto that Paragon boss, kill the mesmers/Ruby then boss if all goes well nobody dies. I flagged my party near the middle stairs (middle structure), so the first ones to take most of the blunt force were us melee.
Now you can goto to those side areas to clear of some DP with Heket/Beetles..or save them later and go for the Dervish right away. Dervish Boss hits damn hard, but his gang can be bodyblocked & killed other side of the bridge and there's at least 1 Ruby or two from the extra spawn. Good Luck

I did this map with my fiancee. I was an SS and she was a monk. Bonding is key here, have a real monk bonder and 2 LoDs as well as a water elementalist with Ward Against Harm. There is an important way to start this map. Go from the middle, to right, then left. Otherwise you'll go against the Dervish boss and rack up alot of DP right from the get-go making the rest of the time difficult. Take your time, this map takes a bit of time. If done right though, you'll end up with a morale boost by the time you clear the map like me and I I Skye I I did
hope that helps

A communing Rt with the usual trio Shelter/Union/Displacement can be very useful as well.

Get a bonder with extinguish. LoD is very useful too. Having one tank take the initial aggro will help. I used norgu as a shutdown mesmer when I did it.

I just go left first... if you leave the bosses that are most likely to wipe the floor with you till you deserve to fail. Its best to reach the boss in 20 minutes and find out you can't kill him than spend 2 hours clearing the whole area to fail at the last hurdle.
The basic method is luring and flagging. Especially at the start. Several popups in that area, annoying as hell. 2 Ruby Djinn will tear you to shreds. Dust Trap and/or B-Surge will really stop the Sapphire Djinn and Behemoths from hurting you since they ball up and always have an enchantment on them. Then its just a case of using any terrain possible. If theres a wall or corner, use it to block them. Course a spirit spammer works nicely too.
Unless your running very heavy AoE i would really advise Frozen Soil. The less time you spend killing Roaring Ethers over and over again, especially vs the Dervish boss, the quicker he dies before you run out of counters/energy. Also sucks vs the Ether boss when he gets ressurected. But so far that boss has always been a laughing stock, he always seems to ball up on a tank and die from AoE.

First I'm the guy that opened topic I just changed my name.
Thanks you all for advice I finally vanquished The Hidden City of Ahdashim, I used one bonder hero monk, 2 hero nukers, Mhenlo, Kihm, Devona, Herta and about 4 Scrolls of Hero's Insight.
Made the bonder monk keep Life Barrier on all party and just nuked them all, there was couple of times when i was wiped (well to honest more then a couple) but in the end about 100 elementals, 40 beasts, 50 Hekets, 25 beetles and 25 plants were dead at my feet.

You did it without BHA??? Lol, that wasn't a wise move, must've made Ruby Djinns a whole lot more fun.
But grats. Nice use of scrolls ^^

i justed beat this with henchies and heros. i took 2 kd tank, 1 dom mes, 1 monk as heros including myself, the henchies were 2 monks, 1 paragon and the blood nec. it took a better part of 2 hours and used alot of blessings. i desided to go for the dev boss first as he is the toughest i have came across in this map.

I took Power Block and Ward Against Harm and didn't have a problem until I got to the Derv boss. It really hard to decide what to attack first when there are 3 Ethers, a Diamond Djinn and the boss.

My team vanquished the area yesterday...
1 Necro SS (me - with mantra of flame for extra protection)
1 Mo bonder (with life barrier)
2 Monks heroes (both with extinguish)
2 Ele SF heroes (both with ward against elements)
1 Warrior tank
1 Rit hero (Razah communing build)
None of us died even once - with bonds, spirits and wards damage is minimized
I agree that time needed is around 2 hours and i also agree to start from the left side

Kill the boss and djinns first because they don't leave corpses and thus can't be resurrected.
I got lucky with this boss because he had only sapphire djinns and ethers with him so I did some tanking and took out him and his entire group with 2 MS.

Razah and Norgu got me through this one. I don't have PBlock, but there aren't any monk bosses and the casters go down fast enough. Actually I think Norgu had Signet of Midnight equipped, which does a nice job on the dervs. Still got hairy in spots.

I've made it with a friend and heroes .. we made all secondary ele and took frigid armor - so our party couldnt burn what made the SF of the ruby djinns useless (tough they still spammed it like crazy^^) ... and frigid armor also gives more armor vs physical so it helps against almost everything there ..
think we had 2monks and rest on ether on FoC or on SF
